National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) recognises the Four-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP), a dual major undergraduate degree program, as a modern approach in teaching and education. It combines teaching with general studies, offering a broad foundation of knowledge for teaching at the foundational, preparatory, middle, and secondary stages.

DHSK College, Dibrugarh has proposed to introduce the Four-Year B.A. B.Ed. and B.Sc. B.Ed. courses from the academic session 2025–26, following the receipt of the Letter of Intent (LOI) from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), vide letter no. F.No.NCTE/ERC/2526202405032572/ASSAM/2024/LOI Dated: 20/03/2025.

This program will enable students to obtain a dual bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed.) and Arts (B.A.), as well as in Science (B.Sc.) with a focus on Social Sciences, Humanities, Language, and Science subjects like Physical Sciences, Bio-Sciences, and Mathematics—preparing them for an energetic and impactful career in school education.
